According to US Secretary of State John Kerry, al Qaeda’s top leadership has been ‘neutralized’ as an effective force, how he has come to that conclusion given al Qaeda’s many active branches remains to be seen.
As highlighted in yesterdays attack on the Radisson Blu hotel in Mali, al Qaeda is far from neutralized, it’s branches operate in many countries and is playing a key role within the opposition to the Assad government in Syria.
